In business for nearly 14 years, we are a full service dollhouse and miniature store. We are located in a sunny, quaint fishing village

We stock a large selection of dollhouse kits, furniture, accessories, building and landscaping supplies,
books & magazines, dolls, one-of-a-kind artisan items and much more in the miniature line by all major manufacturers.

We also carry horses by Breyer and Schleich as well as scale horse stables and barns at very reasonable prices.

We hold miniature workshops taught by Canadian artisans from near and far on a regular basis.

We are an authorized Bradford Group dealer showcasing dolls in the Ashton Drake line.
We carry other lines of dolls and teddy bears, as well as the full line of Ty plush.

Out of the Ordinary is a full-line miniature shop located two minutes from Hwy. 401 in historic Preston Towne Centre, in Cambridge, ON
and is celebrating 17 years in business. Miniatures are our only business and we carry Bespaq, Real Good Toys, Houseworks,
Cir-Kit, New Creations, Aztec, Handley House, North Eastern Scale, Concord, Reutter, & Heidi Ott to name only a few of our
well known brands as well as landscaping materials, 300 wallpapers, flooring, wiring, accessories, books, and artisan pieces.

If you can't make it into the store, we ship worldwide and will be constantly up-grading our website to tease you with new products

minutes from Ottawa and 20 minutes from 401 on Hwy 31. There is a printable

Joy and John are a mother and son team who work together through the week in their Studio in Midland, Ontario.

Joy makes porcelain dolls, dresses miniature dolls in 1/12th and smaller scales, and designs miniature knitting patterns, plus she makes many other things including designing and making hats and doll wigs. She specializes in making and dressing 'tiny' dolls, which are dolls made for 1/12th scale dolls to hold.

John designs and makes molds for making dolls and dollhouse accessories.
He has a line of porcelain character teapots and cookie jars which he sells either finished, or with a 'workshop' CD showing how to paint them.

Both Joy and John teach workshops -
Joy teaches doll dressing and hat making.
John teaches painting of porcelain cookie jars, teapots, and more.

They offer knitting supplies, and some doll supplies, and have a good 'projects' page.

Hand Crafted Quality Miniatures

I've been involved in miniatures for several years now, But what I love the most is designing and making flowers. I use mostly Japanese papers, depends on the thickness needed for scale. I hand paint all the shading and details. I have been working in 1/12th scale but have recently been concentrating on 1/4 scale. I have been designing and making florals, upholstered furniture and accessories in this new (to me) scale.
